Canva and Print Production
Canva has recently gained popularity. It is a great tool for designing social media graphics, logos, and print products.
Waikato Printing Company is proud to support a number of customers who use Canva to design promotions, and who make use of the great templates and designs available in Canva.
Over the past few years of working with Canva, we have learnt the following tricks that will make it a lot easier to send your file to us:
Use only high resolution images
If you are going to download an image off the internet, don’t choose low resolution images. When printed, these images don’t look great.
Add a bleed to the page
Bleed is the idea of extending the content of the page off the end of the page, so that when it is printed, it can be trimmed to look borderless, and have ink all the way to the edge of the page. Canva has recently added this feature, and it is very important you do this when you create a design that you want printed.
Make use of ‘consistency’
Canva has a huge range of designs and templates. We recommend to keep your designs consistent, when delivering certain messaging. For example, if you were running a summer promotion, we suggest that you use similar templates throughout the promotion. This helps create brand recognition with your customers.
What can be printed?
Canva has a great range of templates, including business cards, letterheads, brochures, post cards, sale cards, rack cards, and more. Waikato Printing Company can print all of these products.
How to send your Canva design to Waikato Printing Company?
Easy – simply PDF the design, and upload it to an order through our site. Sometimes, our design team will request to be ‘invited’ into your Canva design to make small print corrections before we print your order.
